Proslot Toyota to Bentley
Thought I would enter the competition. Not suer what kind of cars you wanted in the comp so have entered a Proslot Toyota that i converted to a Bentley.
Firstly cut some plasticard to fit in the vents in the front of the cars as well as the side vents. The rear wing on the Toyota attaches to the body on the sides whereas the Bentley has a wing with twin supports in the middle of the car. Fly have spare wings for their cars and the closest one I could find was the Porsche GT1 98 - so settled for this I added all the pieces to the car and sprayed British Racing Green.
I then added all the decals,
added some Ferrari 512 headlights that I had in my bits box, detailed the driver
and assembled it all together. I added Ninco wheels which I painted black (the
original rears are not even centered), added a Ninco magnet in the centre of
the chassis, and moved the proslot magnet to the rear. From tests when it was
a Toyota, there was too much play in the motor assembly, so I inserted a piece
of wood in the gap where the assembly clip goes, and then fitted this over the
assembly clip holding the clip to the floor of the chassis. I found this stopped
the excessive wheel bounce these cars have. I also added plasticard girder strips
to reinforce the chassis as there is way too much chassis flex in my opinion.
Works much better now - not my quickest car but acceptable to drive.
