MGA
This was a very low budget
project. The body is an 1/32 scale MGA kit from Lindberg that I purchased back
in the late sixties and the driver is an Airfix military figure with a helmet
made from body putty. The motor
came from an electronics surplus store and I had to sleeve the shaft to fit
a standard pinion. The frame is made of brass sheet, tubing and rods and mounted
to the body with screws into wood blocks glued inside the
body. The wheels were cast from two part resin and the tires were cast from
RTV silicone. The exhaust pipe that shows from under the back of the car was
made from an old ball point pen refill that I tinned with solder
to give it a steel color. This car easily outruns my stock Carrera 1/32 scale
cars.
