Maistro
I made a lot of conversion to 1/32 slot cars this year, some quite interesting: the one I send You is the smallest slot car I never seen in this scale and is complete of the original inside seats.
Parts required:
1 x Maisto 1/32 static model
(metallic)
1 x Policar F1 chassis complete of motor and gear
3 x little screw
some epoxy (2 component) cement
some piece of styrene strip (evergreen)
some Graupner piece of lead weight
Construction:
After dismantling the Maisto cars in its components (axles, spring motor, wheels, inside seats, metallic body), I adapted the Policar chassis to the length of the car, shortening it and cutting and adapting the original guide and the copper braids (fastening them to the chassis and to the electric wire with two very little screws) to the new wheelbase.
Now I inserted and glued with cyanoacrilate a bit of styrene strip in a cavity of the plastic inside and I well covered all with paper tape, then accomodate the chassis against the inside and the body of the car leaned upside-down on the table. I poured the prepared epoxy to fill the space between the plastic inside and the chassis.
When the epoxy is well dried I removed the chassis and peeled off the paper tape: at this point I had an accurate interlocking puzzle between the chassis and rhe inside/body of the car, I have only to fasten the two parts together with a screw in the appropriate location I prepared with the Evergreen styrene sheet.
I have some other trouble to make sure the front axle (original with its wheels) will run freely and to fit the original wheels on the Policar back (motor) axle : now the slot is ready. I balanced the car wit some piece of lead weight (You may see in one picture) and SHE run with satisfaction. SHE is not a GT car but displays all her charm on my home track.
