Track Design Competition: Andre Lambert

My 4-lane track is about 55 feet long and is made of Scalextric/SCX track and accessories. The two main straights are joined at the ends of the table by two rather twisty sections, one including a double inner 180° turn, which is quite challenging.

The scenery is made from Scalextric buildings, SCX accessories (tyre walls) and various cars and figures I could find. I really like the F1 accident scene and the FIA podium along the main straight. The trees are railway modeling trees found in a local hobby shop, just like the grass, where I also hand-painted some ads. I made up the fencing with various materials I could find at the hardware store and printed ads found in magazines and on the Web. Some tyre walls are also made with water hoses cut and painted to look like real tyre walls (and they are effective too!).

This track is one of the tracks used for our small racing club in Quebec, Canada, called the Select Racing Club (http://selectracingclub.com/).
