Track Design Competition: Bernard Fogarty
Cradley Park Table Top Raceway may
give someone with limited space a bit of inspiration.
Last December I put together the basic track after looking
through catalogues and ended up with Cat 2, track CM1 but with the back straight
kink going inwards. This gave me the grand
size of 4’ 9” x 2’ 5” approx to play with.
To start off I used Classic track then changed over
to Sport ASAP. This proved a problem, as various parts were
not available. Now it is complete Sport track and I have plans to add sideswipes
and two normal pieces of track to extend when I buy a bunk bed (the track will
go on the top bunk and an office underneath!)
I employ one crossover bend at Stadium and double the
track length!
Gee Dee, Nottingham supply the rocks, e-bay the white
buildings and Scale Models Sport buildings. Figures
have come from various sources.
Cars are from the usual sources:
Scale Models, Pendle Slot Racing, MRE, P & J Models, local shops -
Arcade Toy Shop & DMB Models or Nottingham/Stafford.
The pictures speak louder than my descriptions:

A combined view of Dudley Wood bend with GT40’s, I’ve waited 5 decades J for these beauties!!!!

Coca Cola Curves and Stadium Bend; beer mats are good adverts.
For all NASCAR lovers, at Stadium there is a
(1/16th) Pennzoil ‘gas’ pump.
Gravel needs to be added and areas blackened, BUT I’ve
got GT40’s to exercise, so that will have to wait.
