Track Design Competition: Bruno Chatigny

My 4-lane track is about 60 feet long and is made of Scalextric/SCX track and accessories. I have designed a new circuit last summer, in order to be ready for the 2002-2003 season of our small racing club. The main straight is just after a difficult turn where a change in elevation in the exit makes things challenging. At the end of the straight, another difficult but banked inner 180° turn awaits the drivers. And then, it's a section with small but difficult curves to negociate just before passing by the pits and turning again for 180° on a rising track to go on the back straight over the pit boxes.

The scenery is made from Scalextric buildings and various cars and figures I could find at flea markets. Helicopters and blimps fly above the track, to make sure everything is OK. The borders are self-made with white-painted wood and red tape. The grass is an outdoor green carpet. Some sand traps were made with real sand and trees and vegetation are made of dry "real" vegetation found in the forest.

This track is one of the tracks used for our small racing club in Quebec, Canada, called the Select Racing Club (http://selectracingclub.com/).
