Track Design Competition: Hakan Olaussons

1999 I bought a Scalextric set for my kids, and the year after I won a Ninco set in a competition and that was the start of this projekt. Fed up with bringing all this stuff in and out of a wardrobe I decided to build a permanent track with two main priorities.

1: It schould be brought out and away just with a push of a button.
2: It schould be great fun and realistic to drive.

First of all, this projekt is not finnished yet, but the base and layout is there.

As an ex. racingdriver I decided to build a copy of my home circuit, Scandinavian Raceway at Anderstorp. Why? Because it
has long straights and long sweeping corners, some even slightly banked and no silly chicanes.
When this work was finnished I saw much space left on the infield area, and therefore built a separate rallystage there.

The GP track is made by Ninco parts incl. a Scalextric pitlane and 27 m long.
The rallystage is made by Scalextric, SCX and some Nincotrack and has a driving length of 50 m.

All track has full Ninco deep slots. I´ve made a special tool to modify the Scalextric parts.

Its built on a big "plate" 2,50 m * 7,30 m in my workshop and is designed to go up in the roof with wires in a 12 volt elevator system wich is not finnished yet.

A full pitlane area will be built too with trailers, tents, cars and people as well as grandstands etc. etc.

Regards Hakan.
