Track Design Competition: Keith Gear

The track is routed M.D.F. board and painted with roof paint, applied with sponge roller and simulates bitumen perfectly.

The Rally Track is normal flat acrylic with fine sawdust mixed in.

Rocks and rough terrain were made from expanding building foam and painted, flat grass areas I used fabric dye (various shades of green) and soaked sawdust in it, this was then sprinkled on to the track and set with a solution of P.V.A. glue through a spray bottle.

The Pit area was constructed from a sheet of polystyrene and painted. Street lights are made up of black drinking straws and small garden lights.

All the trees were made up from twigs and woodlands tree foliage, 90% of all the scenery has been hand made. Racing on the track is computer managed.
