Track Design Competition: Mads Sorensen

Welcome to track: Hillrace.
The racecourse is build with Ninco 4 tracks and is 40 meters long.

The subject for the racecourse: A relatively fast course situated at the foot of the bed of a smaller mountain range. It is therefore build in different levels, with a high rise followed by mountain drive and a steep fall down through a S- harassment. This gives an exciting driving.

The landscape: The racecourse itself is placed on a 22mm chip board with banked curves. The mountains are made of cast mixed with crumbled expanded polystyrene and grey water colours. They are subsequently sprayed with grey colour in different shades to create a play of colours. Accordingly to the climate the plantation consists of small bushes and pines which we have made our selves.

The buildings etc.: The building around the Pit is 2 m long it has a build in monitor (a computer monitor) and room for 10 teams. At the back of the building there is room for the various team trucks etc. The building is a re-build bookcase.

The souvenir booth is made from 2 mm plastboard and is furnished with bookcases filled with T-shirts, kit, posters, and other gimmicks.

The barrier boards are made from 3 mm plastboard mounted afterwards with billboards made on a computer.

The figures are from various racecourse kits and toy soldiers made into civilians.

Driving on the course: The timekeeping is made by a “slotmaster”, with a precision of 1/1000 sec. On the course we drive all types of cars: GT, Rally, Classic, trucks and touring

The furture: The next step is to fill the pit stop with pit crew, cars, tyres, tubes and other things that belongs in a pit.

We are going to plant more forest.

There are going to be placed more people on the stands and in the area around the souvenir booth and more smaller buildings such as beat tents, a hot-dog stand, etc.

We are going to build a control tower in the middle to cover a pillar which cannot be removed.

We hope that our racecourse can give other inspiration to their own racecourses.
