My 4-lane track is about 70 feet long and is made of Cartronic track I found at Costco 3 years ago at a real good price. I was able to build this layout with about 200$US worth of track (and I have some left over!). The set cars were no good but the track works well with all 1/32 cars. As I had only one radius for the curves, I had to design my circuit by fitting two 2-lane circuits side-by-side and equalizing lane lengths and curves. I have done it with an overpass. The main straight is more than 20 feet long.
The scenery is made from home-made and Scalextric buildings as well as various cars and figures I could find everywhere I could. The table is painted green and a lot of trees found in Christmas kits were put around the track, as well as trees found in hobby shops. I made some of the bigger buildings around the track myself, including the Lola garage, the pit boxes and the refreshments stands.
This track is one of the tracks used for our small racing club in Quebec, Canada, called the Select Racing Club (http://selectracingclub.com/).
