The Mercedes Benz 190, first introduced in 1982, reached record sales in the following year. A short time later, with the 190 E 2.3-16, private individuals dared to make their first steps in the DTM. Also Franz Klammer, one of the most successful Austrian ski racers, tried in 1986 as a newcomer to the race car in the "lui" & "Commodore" design.

Only with the factory entry of Mercedes, the brand established itself successfully in touring car racing. The Carerra "Time-Twist" Limited Edition combines the design of the time with the latest model of mercedes AMG, the C63 DTM and pays homage to this over 30-year track record.
