Penelope Pitlane Ferrari Thin Wall Special MK IV 1952. With the disappointment of the B.R.M V16 project Tony Vandervell acquired a series of Ferraris, this is the last of those and is known as the Mk IV It started life as a long wheelbase 375 Indianapolis chassis. It was re-bodied in Britain and fitted with Goodyear disc brakes. This car was to become one of the most famous cars in Britain driven by Gonzalez, Taruffi, Farina, Hawthorn and Collins. With Farina at the wheel it became the 1st car to lap Silverstone at over 100mph.
