Unlike the first car already identified as “Porsche 917K - Mira Test Facility 1970,” this “II” variant reflects another stage of aerodynamic experimentation carried out to solve the 917’s notorious high-speed instability. The engineering solutions validated during these tests became fundamental to the evolution of the 917K, helping Porsche achieve its landmark endurance racing victories in the early 1970s.
