The Ferrari 246 SP was the first Ferrari with a central engine, it won the World Manufacturers’ Championship, and has a history that will fascinate you. We chose it after a hard work of research and documentation, and with the invaluable help of two friends who are specialists in the Targa Florio who guided us wisely from the first minute and to whom we are infinitely grateful. Without Karsten and Matthias this replica would not exist.

Modelant: the tradition of handmade.

We are looking at an unprecedented model in slot, the Ferrari 246 SP in its winning version of the 1961 Targa Florio at the hands of Olivier Gendebien and Wolfgang Von Trips. We have respected the 1:32 scale as much as possible, with a reproduction that we have modelled completely by hand, taking care of the smallest details and with a totally artisanal manufacture carried out entirely in our workshop in Sabadell, near Barcelona.

Meticulously manufactured with the highest quality materials, and mechanized with a 3D chassis also of our own design and manufacture that mounts calibrated axles, turned aluminium rims, calibrated gears and inline slim-can engine for a better reproduction of the cockpit.

In addition to Von Trips at the wheel, we wanted to reproduce the scene in which, after winning the race, Olivier Gendebien climbs into the 246 SP to head for the podium. To do so, we included a detailed replica of the Belgian driver, ready to sit on the rear hood just as he did on April 30, 1961. (Each unit includes a figure stored under the display stand for optimal shipping.)

For the presentation we continue with our usual trunk-type wooden box with a diorama representing the race, to which we incorporated a novelty, by popular demand: Lifting supports for the exhibition of the diorama in the wooden box.

In the triptych that completes the box and contains a summary of the history of the model, a sheet drawn in pencil and pen by the artist Diego Serrano is also included.
