The German company Zakspeed who had close links with Ford, are mainly known for their hugely powerful and successful Capri Group 5 racing machinery. But they also turned their attention to the MkII Escort and the little family car took on a menacing look with its huge wheel arches and rear wing.

This is the black car with Mampe sponsorship as raced by Armin Hahne at the Norisring round in the 1978 DRM Championship. It's not only stunning to look at but has great performance too fitted with high-end components.
