Le Mans Miniatures have updated this version of the Matra 630 Coupe. The resin chassis of the previous version has been replaced by injected ABS chassis, the four wheels are all now aluminium and a figurine of Henri Pescarolo drives the slotcar. Many other details have been refined (photo-etching, pad printing on the striped tires, and flush windows.

Matra Sport Team comes in Le Mans in 1968 as to an experimental outing and not especially as to a race. The MS 630 car number 24 is the only one Matra car. Porsche arrives as favourite, but everybody expects a lot from Alpine and finally Ford wins.

The wheelbase of the new version of 1968 is stretched out: the total length of the car passes from 428 to 450 cm. The rear of the car is widened and rear bonnet is remodelled. From 1968, the Seita blue (Orly 915) replaces the Valentine blue.
